The projection of the world according to the Scottish Reverend James Gall. It dates back to the 19th century and takes up the vision of the European world, but disputes on scientific foundations the inaccurate proportions of the continents of the official version (Mercator Version) popularized by the West and is based on the actual size of the continents. This map is therefore closer to the reality with respect to the actual sizes of the continental blocks of the world. In the 20th century, this map was taken over and improved by the German Arno Peters. This map is therefore often called the Peters projection or Gall-Peters’ Projection.
